TOWER II

The discoveries from the previous study of the transformation of the Manhattan Transcripts are used in the design of a 50,000m^2 office tower.  The part-to-whole relationships in the typical office tower, explored in Part I as floor-to-tower, is studied in Part II as office-to-tower and lobby-to-tower.  The two programmatically different parts are represented as such; the office is regular and mundane (the box), and the lobby is irregular and exciting (the blob).  Warping and blending the two forms, one results in a variety of formal qualities and spaces with varying degrees of regularity.
